King Crab
These seafood species come from the waters of Alaska, where there are actually three different species available. The three varieties include the Golden King Crab, Blue King Crab and the Alaskan Red King Crab. The latter is the most prized for its sweet meat, which is very white with hints of bright red. Steam the crab legs and serve hot with garlic butter dipping sauce, for a seafood meal that is sure to please. When eating these crabs, just jump right in and start splitting the shells and legs to pull out long strips of crab meat that is juicy and delicious. When cooking shellfish, remember that the seafood product will usually come to you frozen and pre-cooked, so it is important to heat up legs and not over cook the meat. Simple King Crab Recipe:
1. Put a large steamer pot on the stove top or grill top
2. Add a steamer insert
3. Add some water ( but do not cover the crab )
4. Add the crablegs
5. Sprinkle the crab with Old Bay Seasoning
6. Let the pot boil / steam for about 6 to 8 minutes until thoroughly heated
7. Serve the crablegs on large platters with shell crackers and warm drawn butter
8. Enjoy.
